HELLO. WE ARE TAPAS HUNTERS.
Food lovers, always looking for new and authentic experiences.

The Story behind Tapas Hunters
We are Andrei and Alexandra, a young married couple who moved to Spain and decided to document our journey toward finding as many tapas as possible. Tapas Hunters started from our love for travel, trying new foods, and learning about new cultures.
After a 2-year road trip around Europe, we’ve decided to move to Spain. We stayed in Valencia for a while and traveled to cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Santiago de Compostela, and villages around them. Now we’ve settled in the North of Spain.
During all these travels, we’ve noticed there are some tapas that keep showing up on menus. Since we like having new experiences, we started looking for different tapas. We asked the waiter for local recommendations, and we sometimes did research before going to a new city.
The Tapas Hunters Channels
The Instagram account showcases beautiful tapas photos shot by Andrei Dima, a professional photographer who also owns a photography and videography YouTube channel with over 30,000 subscribers.
You can see Alexandra trying tapas at different restaurants on our YouTube channel, which has short videos from our trips to Bilbao and San Sebastian, with more cities to be added soon. Andrei creates the videos in a calm, relaxing style, so viewers can understand what the dish is like and what it contains. He’s also the one cooking all the tapas recipes we post on YouTube and the website.
The website is where you’ll find more in-depth information about the tapas we discover. You can read Tapas Showcase articles, Featured Restaurants, Guides, and Tapas Culture articles. There are also Tapas Recipes, which are made based on the tapas we tried at different restaurants in Spain.
Alexandra wanted to create something special for the nostalgics of the old days, when reading was a moment of peace undisturbed by too many options, so the website also showcases a Magazine layout with a specific theme and curated subjects, published on the first of every month.
You’ll want to join our Facebook group if you have questions about the articles we post, finding the best tapas near you or share your experiences from great Spanish restaurants.
Download our App: Tapas Spinner!
Tap once. Get 3 Tapas ideas.
Decide in seconds
The Mobile App created by Tapas Hunters
We also created a mobile app for you to have on the go: Tapas Spinner, which helps you decide what tapas to order in seconds. This is for you if you go to a Spanish restaurant and get lost in the menu. Either you don’t know what all the options mean, or you simply have decision fatigue.
Tapas Spinner gives users 3 tapas ideas with just one tap. You can see the Spanish name of the dish, so you can spot it in the menu, while also seeing the key ingredients in English, so you get a feeling about what to expect.
Besides helping you decide what to order at restaurants, you can use the app to decide what to order at home or what Spanish tapas to cook at home. Tapas Spinner comes with +50 recipes that have easy-to-find ingredients and simple instructions. That means you can still enjoy tapas at home even after leaving Spain!
Special features include a limit of 5 spins per day, so you spend less time on you phone and more time enjoying life and Spanish food. Or being able to use the app offline, with no internet needed – making this the perfect ally while traveling to remote areas or inside thick-walled bars and restaurants. Download Tapas Spinner from here.
Our Mission
Besides wanting to find new tapas, we also want to support authentic, local restaurants. While we enjoy international food once in a while, we believe people should eat at Spanish restaurants foremost when traveling to Spain, to support the local economy and actually understand the culture. That also means guidance towards good places to eat at and avoiding tourist traps.
Tapas Hunters wants to be a resource for tapas lovers looking for something different, while authentic: find tapas their friends haven’t seen yet, continue the Spanish experience by making the recipes at home, or use the Tapas Spinner app to decide what to order at Spanish restaurants outside of Spain.
